Visual deception

Restaurant Santiago on the Paseo Maritimo near the Puerto Deportivo in Marbella seems like the perfect place for a romantic dinner in an attractive setting at first glance, but boy were we wrong!

The staff had apparently taken their pretentious outfits to heart and turned on the snob knob up to 11! They were cold and distant, without any form of empathy for the guests in the restaurant including us.

My wife and I chose to come here as we had heard both good and bad things about Restaurant Santiago, but unfortunately we ended up with nothing good to report at all!

The food itself was just above par but with prices in the range of Michelin star restaurants this is by far a tourist trap that I will never recommend that anyone visits. Restaurant Santiago is a classic example of how restaurants in Marbella ensure that tourists visiting our beautiful city will not return.

If I had been on holiday for me and I had to judge standards in Marbella based on this visit I would have to say that Santiago is for the people who care little for food, and rate showing off higher than value for money.

What a shame that a place like this chooses to represent Marbella the way they do. Avoid.
