Medium Rare Not Well Done

Medium Rare opened its doors in 2005; a main hall and outdoor terrace are situated at ground level, whilst upstairs contains a dedicated special events room and a quaint roof top terrace. We have dined here a couple of times, once last New Year’s Eve and once with some business partners in November 2011. I for one think Medium Rare at best, ranks just below par for what can be expected of restaurants with a prime location in the middle of Marbella. However the guests I dined with all expressed mixed opinions ranging from awful to excellent so i guess this is a classic example of difference of opinion.

We did however agree on one thing and that was the level of service, not up to standard! Many times I refer to service as one of the most important things when reviewing a restaurant, as for me the essence of dining out is to have a positive, memorable experience but unfortunately many places are remembered for their bad service. The quality of food here is reflected by the price; I would suggest opting for one of their meats dishes but don’t arrive with exceptionally high expectations.

The one time we brought our kids here I will say that the service was higher than I had anticipated, the staff were very attentive throughout. It might be a while before I visit Medium Rare again and it will for sure be for a family outing and not a romantic or business dinner.
