A quick bite

Having lived beach side near the Ricardo Soriano for quite some time now, I have stayed clear of many of the promenade restaurants as they tend to be overpriced, poor quality and with a low standard of service.

This however is not the case for La Colmena. It’s not necessarily an exceptional culinary experience, but a freshly baked pizza for five Euro makes for a nice meal when you have two hungry girls to feed who are starving after having played in the nearby playground for what seemed like hours.

La Colmena offers a variety of just above average food at below average prices, which makes this a perfect fit for everyone needing something quick after leaving the beach or playground. The freshly baked pizzas are one of the better aspects of La Colmena; whether you choose to stay and eat them in or order them to takeaway they beat the likes of Telepizza by miles.

Another quality feature of La Colmena is that they do not close for service between lunch and dinner. For this reason alone we would choose to order our take away pizzas here on school nights as many other restaurants are barely open for dinner by the time our kids go to bed.

So if you find yourself strolling along the Marbella promenade, without any idea where to go, you could find yourself leaving La Colmena full and without an empty wallet.
