El reloj

El Reloj is situated on the corner of a pretty sidewalk in the midst of Orange Square.  Upon our visit it was bustling outside with most tables filled and a whole host of waitresses milling around.

We were lured to El Reloj for quite a few reasons, it offered free wi fi and the location really was ideal. However, the service was incredibly slow.  We were seated at our table for nearly twenty minutes, and were considering leaving to visit a different restaraunt before a sullen and abrubt waitress served us. We weren’t allowed to order our food and drinks at the same time, despite us having had more than enough time to peruse the menu.

When our drinks eventually arrived I was disapointed to be served a luke warm cocktail in a grimy San Miguel pint glass. As if that wasn’t off putting enough, there were a lot of suspicious looking lumps floating on the surface as well. Despite the drinks all being below par the tapas was passable with the meatballs in particular being rather tasty.

The pricing at El Reloj reflected the service and poor quality luckily and our bill came to a total of 21Euros for a vast amount of food and two cocktails. Overall it is a shame that this dinner was not as enjoyable as expected.  With such a prime location, and reasonable decor we were expecting more from El Reloj.
