Down with Black and white

One of my most frequent gripes about Puerto Banus (apart from the fact that the Town Hall seem to think that it’s on a par with Monte Carlo or Portofino, blinkered to the fact that there are stag and hen parties running riot and wall to wall street hookers on the second line) is that it’s so bloody expensive. Twenty five euros for a plate of past and you are not supposed to bat an eyelid because it’s Puerto Banus.

Newly opened restaurant Black and White bucks this trend however. It may have one of the best locations in the Port, next to the Tower and the superyachts, but that doesn’t mean that it you need a supersized wallet to eat there.

The décor is trendy urban-style in monochrome with bright and funky décor, characterized by original touches of Formula 1 glamour, state-of-the-art lighting, video screens, sound system, driver simulator with X-Box, and free Wi-Fi. Black and White aims give diners a total experience with upbeat music, singers, shows – even choreographed waiters – so it is definitely a fun night out style restaurant, though there are tables for two.

The food is good with everything from sharing plates of Hummus and Babaganoush, a Tabulé or a classic Tricolore Salad, throught to plates of pasta, a freshly made pizza and calzone, or a fish or meat dish, Black and White has a huge menu available to please most palates. The pizza is particularly light, crispy and fresh, the pasta, fresh, tasty and lots of it, the salads are large, crisp and succulent, and the meat and fish dishes are great value for money. There are even kids menus, and there’s enough going on in the restaurant to keep them all entertained.

If you want a fun night out, great value and entertainment, plus a great location that won’t put a huge hole in your wallet, Black and White is highly recommended.
